Curious soundtrack: Angelo Badalamenti (as usual), David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein(?!), and, during one the greatest sex scenes I have ever seen..
Like the person who posted the YouTube link, I thought it was a Cocteau Twins song. Apparently it's Tim Buckley's.
The beginning is very lynchian. I guess director Dennis Hopper got influenced by Blue Velvet in which he worked with Lynch a few years before Hot Spot. The film starts getting confusing and, to be honest, rather boring after the first hour. But you'll want to keep on watching because you will be rewarded with topless 19-year-old Jennifer Connelly! Had they replaced Don Johnson (Miami Vice) as the lead this film could've become a classic.
